What matters to Clarinda

It has been an absolute honour to get to know and commence working with the wonderful, passionate and hardworking locals of the Clarinda electorate who are dedicated to creating a safe, peaceful and prosperous future for the electorate despite the challenges they face.

Having recently travelled the state as a Senate candidate, the localised issues in Clarinda are no different to other areas I worked with around the state. The common thread being megadebt infrastructure offering us no real solutions and in most cases posing extremely detrimental consequences to the local environment, economy and wellbeing of constituents, imposed by the Victorian Labor government with no community consultation.

Clarinda in particular has become Dan Andrews’ dumping ground and it has to stop. Unlike the career politicians from the major political parties, I promise to always serve to protect the rights of the residents of Clarinda and all Victorians if elected into Parliament this November.

What matters to Clarinda

The localised issues in Clarinda are no different to other areas around the state. The common thread being mega-debt infrastructure and inappropriate urban overdevelopment posing extremely detrimental consequences to the local environment, economy and wellbeing of our community, imposed by the Victorian Labor government with no community consultation.

To be really clear, I'm not opposed to transport upgrades or progression. What I am opposed to however is the overriding of our democratic processes we're witnessing in Victoria that will change our home and the way we live forever.

Clarinda has become Dan Andrews’ dumping grounds, and our area is seriously lacking representation that serves our community. Unlike politicians from the major political parties, I promise to always protect the rights of the residents of Clarinda and all Victorians if elected into Parliament this November.

I’ve been actively engaged in politics for some time now and I can tell you I am your last line of defence, but I can’t do this without you. Together lets vote to prioritise creating a safe, peaceful and prosperous future for our community and for generations to come.

Suburban Rail Loop Project and Train Stabling Yard, Heatherton

The site for the Suburban Rail Loop train stabling yard has no shortage of issues as to why this is the wrong location, the more serious of them being potentially life threatening outcomes for both local residents and wildlife. The state government has admitted local residents will lose the liveability and their right to peaceful enjoyment of their homes. I will fight for the train yard to be moved to a more appropriate location such as the Moorabbin Industrial zone because industrial scale development belongs in industrial areas not in our backyards.

As a Cheltenham resident with a third train station looming in my suburb destroying our open spaces I want to see legitimate scrutiny from Infrastructure Australia of the Suburban Rail Loop before any further work continues, and if the numbers don’t add up I will fight to stop the project.

I will always work to hold the government to account and for transparency surrounding any decisions that have a negative consequence on our lives.

Kingswood Golf Course, Dingley Village

I oppose rezoning the Kingswood Golf Course and say NO to development of the site and I will do everything I can to safeguard the wishes and best interests of our community.

Metro tunnel spoils, Clarinda

The Dan Andrews’ Labor government has dumped the Metro tunnel spoils in Clarinda and it’s causing detrimental health impacts for our community. The dust is triggering respiratory problems and allergic reactions for local residents who are hiring professionals to remove the dust from inside the roofs of their homes. If elected, I will demand answers from the  government as to why the spoils been dumped in Clarinda and fight for its removal.

Inappropriate Urban Overdevelopment

Every suburb in our electorate is under threat from the urban over development plan that we have not consented to. Low density living and open spaces is what makes our Australian way of life desirable and if elected I promise to defend it.

Dingley Village Neighbourhood Centre Upgrades

I will advocate for the promised upgrades of the Dingley Village Community Centre, if elected. The centre is the only location in the area offering occasional care for young families, as well as maternal health care and other recreational classes and programs and social groups vital to the health and wellbeing of our community.

Basketball Courts, Dingley Village

If elected, I will advocate for basketball courts in Dingley Village. Currently families have to travel to play basketball as the local court doubles as a carpark unsafe for children.
